Barbara Bostick Stevenson passed away peacefully at home on March 24, 2024.

Barbara was born on April 3, 1952, in Texas City, Texas, to Virginia and Frank Bostick, Sr. She grew up in LaMarque, Texas, and lived in that area until moving to Arlington to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She was a loving mother and loyal friend, but her most important role by far was that of Nana to her two grandchildren Zachary and Abigail. They were truly the loves of her life and brought her immense joy and happiness every single day. There has never been a prouder or more dedicated Nana.

Barbara loved to spend time with family and friends. She never met a stranger and made fast friends wherever she went. She loved living next-door to her daughter and was so proud of the little house that her son-in-law Scott built for her. She enjoyed sitting on her porch to watch the birds and bees and bunnies in her yard.

Coming in a close second behind her grandchildren, the other love of her life was her dog Tank. She rescued him from the Mansfield Animal Shelter in 2018. They were devoted to each other.

Barbara was lucky to have many lifelong friends. She loved fiercely and unconditionally and was loved by many in return.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Sandy Machann; Frank "Buzz" Bostick Jr; Lucie Testa; and Jackie Burdette; and her very best friend Diane Howard Ransom.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Jennifer Stevenson Carpenter and her son-in-law Scott Carpenter, two grandchildren, Zachary Scott Carpenter and Abigail Elizabeth Carpenter. In addition, she is survived by her beloved aunt Melba Jean Maddox, and many loving family members and friends.

Barbara did not wish to have a formal funeral service. She wants her ashes to be spread in her front yard between the oak tree and the Lady Banks rose that she loved so much.
