Barbara Olsen passed away peacefully with family by her side October 17, 2024, at Carrollton Medical Center in Carrollton, Texas. She was born second of eleven children on October 27, 1945, to William H. Osborn and Evelyn Mae Osborn.  Barbara is preceded in death by her first husband, Wesley Ray Brown, her second husband, Bill E. Olsen; her parents, William H. Osborn and Evelyn Mae Osborn; brother, Phillip Osborn; and sister, Carol Albert. She is survived by her daughter, Tracie Dowler; sister, Mary Roberts (Holt), sister, Beverly Green (Tim); brother, Joe Osborn; sister, Sharon Butts, sister, Sharleen Jennings; brother, Jerry Osborn (Diane); sister, Teresa Liner; brother, Ronnie Osborn (Cindy), sister-in-law, Shirley Osborn and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara and Wesley were only married a few years when Wesley passed away when Tracie was two years old.  A few years later, Barbara met Bill and they had thirty-eight wonderful years together. Barbara was a good business woman. In fact, one time she won the ABWA -American Business Woman of The Year. Later, she and Bill began a career in the jewelry business working at the DFW airport.  Later, they co-owned Las Colinas Gold and Silver in which Tracie worked alongside with them as a certified gemologist.

After sixteen years they retired in 2004 and moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they lived for three years. In 2007, they returned home due to family illness and after Bill passed away in 2018, Barbara resided with her loving daughter Tracie. They had a lot of fun times together and Tracie took extraordinary care of her mother.

Barbara loved to read, especially books about angels. She loved having angel sets around her home. She also loved going to restaurants and enjoyed watching old movies, the Young and the Restless and especially Joel Olsteen and Billy Graham! Her favorite actresses were Elizabeth Taylor, Barbara Stanwyck, and Lana Turner. Barbara loved to dress up, put her makeup on and do all sorts of wonderful things with Tracie and family.

She had a beautiful white bichon named Bailey for ten years. After Bailey passed away a few years ago, she never got over missing her sweet companion that gave her so much comfort. She also never stopped missing Bill and we know he was there to welcome her home.  She will forever be loved and missed by Tracie and her family.

A graveside service will be held at 1:15 p.m., on November 7, 2024 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX  75211.
