Barbara Ann Kinser Baker, 74, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019, in the comfort of her eldest daughter and son-in-law's home after losing her battle with cancer.
Barbara was born on July 7, 1945 in Gorman, Texas, to Rex and Jeannette Kinser.Growing up the daughter of a sharecropper and a seamstress, she developed a firm understanding of the dedication of hard work; she enjoyed a brief retirement until her untimely passing.
She attended Gorman Public Schools and was a 1963 graduate of Gorman High School.After high school, she married and moved to Cisco, where she would start her family.She later moved to Fort Worth, where she remained after raising her daughters.A loving mother, and adopted mom to many, she became a grandmother in 2015.She thoroughly enjoyed each and every moment that she could spend with her family, even until the very end.
In her leisure time, Barbara enjoyed gathering with family and friends for laughs, dancing, catching movies, going to concerts, and performing medleys as a self-taught pianist.No matter where life's journey took her, she was determined to always make the best of every situation.Her optimism and good-natured spirit will be greatly missed.
She raised three daughters and was a mother and grandmother who loved her children unconditionally.She was deeply admired by those who best knew her.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Medical City North Hills and to Freedom Hospice for their compassion and care during her final time of need. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved son, her parents, her stepparents, and many treasured family members and friends.
Survivors:daughter, Dalynnda Odom and husband, Jon, of Fort Worth, Texas, daughter, Teresa Baker of Ranger, Texas, daughter, Crystal Appel and husband, Russell; and grandson, Logan, of Gillette, Wyoming; and numerous friends.
