Anthony Charles Spears, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on March 21st, 2026.

He is survived by his wife Vyki, son Ryan, daughter-in-law Kendall, three grandchildren, Arthur, Olivia, and Madison, Brother Jeffery, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Anthony was born in Seguin, Texas on June 26th, 1954, to loving parents, Charles and Estella Spears.

He spent his young life there graduating from Seguin High School in 1972.  Anthony was a three-year letter winner and a member of the Seguin High School Matador Golf Team. He won several youth tournaments and earned a golf scholarship to Huston-Tillotson University.

While at Huston-Tillotson he decided on a career in education and transferred to the University of North Texas. He graduated from UNT with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and went on to earn his master's in education administration from Texas A&M Commerce.

Anthony worked in the private sector as well as several school districts. At Boeing Electronics, he was a production supervisor and also an HR employee.

Anthony retired from Ferris ISD as a high school principal. He was loved and respected by students and staff alike.  Many students returned after graduation to thank Mr. Spears for his inspirations and advice that had allowed them to follow their dreams.

Anthony loved golf, it started at a young age and lasted a lifetime.  He enjoyed attending The Byron Nelson golf tournament, watching The Masters tournament and following the career of Tiger Woods.

Anthony loved his family most of all. He will be lovingly remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his kindness, being the calm in any storm, and his contagious smile.  He will be deeply missed.
