Ann Neugent Halligan was born in the summer of 1950 to Mr. Benjamin Neugent and Evelyn Blackburn Neugent of Jacksonville, Florida as their only daughter of 5 children.

After completing her college studies, she moved out of Florida to discover what the world had to offer her. The biggest adventure came around 1982-83 when she met John Halligan. They later married on Valentine's Day 1985. Two years later their only daughter was born in January 1987.

While balancing a newborn and working full time, Ann completed her master's in library science at the University of North Texas. She went on to work in the education field for the next 35 years for various schools and universities; most notably at the University of Texas at Arlington Library, Weatherford College Library, Saint Maria Goretti Catholic School, and the Tarrant Literacy Coalition. Ann's volunteer work encompassed Girl Scouts, the Fort Worth Audubon Society, and Texas Master Naturalists.

At 73, Ann passed peacefully in her sleep, succumbing to a combination of physical illnesses.
She is remembered by her husband, John Halligan; her daughter, Mindy Stewart; John's children, Jean Vandergrift, Deann Anderson, Linda Pitts, Glenn Halligan, and their families; her surviving brothers, Allen Neugent, Ken Neugent, and David Neugent and their families; any additional blood-relations that I'm not remembering at the time of writing this, and the many friends who became family over the years.

The Interment of Ashes:

Monday, March 11th, 2024, at 11:15 AM –11:45 AM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery

The Cemetery requests those joining us to be at the cemetery by 11 AM. The party will then be led to the committal shelter to begin promptly at 11:15. We are allowed 30 minutes.

Those wishing additional time to visit after the service are welcome to join the family at Spring Creek BBQ for lunch.
