Obituary

Allen L. Green, 82, passed away October 14, 2019 in Pantego, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born in East Chicago, Indiana, on March 31, 1937 to Frederick Joseph Green and Ethel Charlotte Elizabeth Stettes. He is preceded in death by his brother, Fred Green, Jr., of Moberly, Missouri.

He worked through the years at various companies such as Inland Steel, Continental Airlines, as well as Braniff International Airways for 17 years. He capped off his working life as a carpenter for Dallas County. His church families include Highland Church of Christ in Highland Indiana, and Rylie Christian Church in Rylie, Texas. Allen attended Dallas Christian College, where he met his beautiful bride, Thelma.

Al had a great love for woodworking and Christmas. He would often combine those loves in his hobby of crafting wooden toys. He was always a jokester, even through the toughest times. Al could make you laugh and at times, give an eye roll. His baking talents will certainly be missed by all that have experienced his pies, cakes, cookies and fudge that was part of every Christmas time. A deeply devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. The heritage of faith left by his parents, he left for his own children.

Allen is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Thelma Sims Green; daughter, Cheryl Soncini; sons, Wayne Allen Green and Scott Allen Green and his spouse Aurelia; grandchildren, Anndrea Hawthorne Johnson and her spouse Charlie Johnson, Tracy Nicolosi and her spouse Rich Nicolosi, Joshua Zumwalt, Ashley Green, and Emily; seven great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hayden, Brayden, Kinley, Lily, Violet and Jameson; He is also survived by his brother, Robert Green of Springfield, Illinois.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Lions Club Hall, 3535 Marathon Street, Pantego, Texas 76013.
